Lesson 3 – Vascularisation

The vascularisation of the urethra is rich and comes essentially from the branches of the internal iliac artery. A rich anastomotic network is organised at the level of the walls of the urethra. Preservation of the vascularisation of the urethra is of paramount importance in urethral surgery to allow good healing and guarantee operative success.
